ESS Inks Mobile Rights Agreement with Cricket Australia

SINGAPORE, January 3: ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) has picked up
the mobile rights for India’s Cricket Tour of Australia from Cricket Australia,
and will make content available on mobileESPN and STAR Sports Mobile.

The packages will feature four test matches, 15 ODIs and a
Twenty20 International from Cricket Australia. Under the terms of the
agreement, mobileESPN and STAR Sports
Mobile will provide video clips, wallpapers, animations and mobile downloads.
The video clips will contain highlights of key innings, fall of wickets, key
wicket haul and more. The wallpapers and animation will capture key moments of
the match and center on star players.

Both mobileESPN and
STAR Sports Mobile services are available on leading telcos in India, including
Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, BSNL and Aircel.

Sanjay Kailash, the executive VP of ad sales, business
development and new media for ESPN Software India, commented: “India’s young
generation has taken to the mobile space as a key medium to deliver and
experience quality sporting content. The response to mobileESPN and STAR Sports
Mobile has been very positive and we expect a lot of user activity during the
India tour of Australia.”
