ESPN Classic Inks Spanish IPTV Deal

MADRID, July 5: ESPN Classic has reached a carriage deal
with Telefónica’s Spanish IPTV platform Imagenio, reaching more than 250,000
subscribers.

Imagenio offers 66 different TV channels, 15 radio stations,
a pay per view football channel and interactive information and commercial
services. Ignacio Fernandez Vega Feijoo, the director of program and contents
at Telefónica de España, noted, “Spain is a nation
steeped in sporting history, and we are confident that viewers will switch on
to the channel to watch their favorite sporting heroes and relive legendary
sporting moments.”

Classic, added, “It’s great to have cracked the Spanish market and great to be
working with Imagenio. Based on the channel’s success in over 40 European
territories, we expect ESPN Classic to be a big hit in Spain.’

The channel reaches 20 million viewers in over 40 countries,
including Italy, France, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Monaco, Poland,
Portugal and Croatia.
