ESPN 3D Scores AT&T U-verse Carriage

DALLAS: AT&T U-verse has added ESPN 3D to its lineup ahead of this week’s World Cup kickoff, with the channel to deliver in 3D 25 matches from South Africa.

Almost 200 live sporting events will be broadcast in 3D in the next year on ESPN 3D, including the 2010 State Farm Home Run Derby, X Games 16, Winter X Games 15, college basketball and football games and the 2011 BCS National Championship Game. The channel also has carriage on Comcast.

"With ESPN 3D, U-verse TV customers can experience the highly anticipated 2010 FIFA World Cup for the first time ever in exciting 3D, and we’re looking forward to delivering more ESPN 3D coverage throughout the year."

AT&T and ESPN are also teaming for a 2010 FIFA World Cup app, allowing customers to watch four ESPN channels at one time and access athlete bios, groupings and the latest team standings. AT&T and ESPN are also delivering live coverage to mobile phones with AT&T Mobile TV and MobiTV.
