Escalante Exits Dori Media

BUENOS AIRES/MIAMI: José Escalante, the CEO of Dori Media America and president and general manager of Dori Media Distribution, is exiting after two years with the company.

Dori Media Distribution and Dori Media America will now be handled by sales VPs Andrés Santos and Juan Fernández in Miami and Elena Antonini in Argentina. 

“Dori Media Group launched its distribution arm in June of 2006,” said Nadav Palti, the president and CEO of Dori Media Group. “During the last two years José and his team have helped us grow and offered our clients the best service and attention possible. Today, Dori Media Distribution sells productions to over 70 countries around the world, covering every continent, and close to 400 television channels globally. I want to thank José for his contributions to our success and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

A statement released by the company highlighted that during Escalante’s tenure, the sales team boosted its participation in Africa, the U.S. Europe and Asia. They also contributed to the distribution of the telenovela Lalola, sold to 69 countries, the success of Amanda O, sold to 23 countries in five months and Champs 12, sold to 19 countries, including Spain, Italy, Portugal, Turkey and Greece. 

“I want to thank Dori Media Group for giving me the opportunity to work during a crucial period for the company,” said Escalante. “It was an honor to work for a company with such a global presence through its 500-800 television hours, with valuable new content every year and in every continent. I’m convinced that Dori Media will continue being one of the main players in the worldwide telenovela business.”

Escalante will continue to work as a consultant for the company until September 30.
