ER to Distribute Transformers Animated in Latin America

NEW YORK, December 7: In the run-up to NATPE, Entertainment
Rights (ER) has secured the Latin American distribution rights for the new 2-D
series Transformers Animated, set to
debut in the U.S. in early 2008.

ER has picked up the rights for 26 22-minute episodes, plus
a 70-minute special episode of Transformers Animated. This agreement build’s on ER’s previous acquisition
of the worldwide television distribution rights, excluding North America, for
the series, and covers television distribution across both free- and pay-TV
platforms.

The 2-D animated series will introduce new characters
alongside legendary favorites such as Optimus Prime and Megatron. Transformers
Animated
follows the success of the
original brand that was launched in 1984 and centers on the struggle between
the Autobots and Decepticons.

Sam Register (Ben 10, Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi, Teen Titans) will serve as the executive producer, Matt
Youngberg (Teen Titans, Batman)
is the supervising director, Vincent Aniceto (Foster’s Home for
Imaginary Friends, Power Puff Girls
) takes
on the role of line producer, with Marty Isenberg (Danny Phantom,
A.T.O.M, X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
)
as head writer. Derrick Wyatt, the character designer for the popular Teen
Titans
series, will take the role of lead
designer.
