ER Appoints New Head of Sales

LONDON, November 30:
Entertainment Rights (ER) has named Adam Selly to the newly created position of
head of sales, excluding the U.S. Canada and Japan.

Selly will be responsible
for generating and maximizing revenue across the ER group’s television and
home-entertainment businesses, exploiting opportunities within existing markets
and identifying new revenue streams in emerging markets. Additionally, Selly
will serve as a conduit within ER for developing existing third-party
relationships with producers and rights owners, as well as forging new
partnerships.

Furthermore, Selly will
report to the company’s director of international, Chloe van den Berg, and is
charged with the oversight of a distribution team that manages a combined
portfolio of more than 3,500 hours of content from ER and its subsidiaries
Classic Media and Big Idea. The portfolio includes brands like Postman Pat, Rupert Bear, Basil Brush, Finley
the Fire Engine
, Jim Jam &
Sunny
, Casper and Where’s Wally.

Prior to joining ER, Selly
founded Dynamite Entertainment, a production company and distributor
specializing in kids’ animation. Before this, Selly spent a six-year tenure at
HIT Entertainment, overseeing sales, licensing and merchandise for Asia
Pacific.

Van den Berg commented:
“Adam joins at a time when ER is poised to further grow and develop its sales,
home entertainment and digital-media businesses as it integrates both Classic
Media and Big Idea within its international portfolio. Adam has an impeccable
track record in the kids’ TV industry and brings to ER many established
relationships with commercial partners around the world, with a particularly
strong focus on Asia Pacific. He will become an integral member of the ER
senior management team.”
