EPIX Lines Up New Concert Special

NEW YORK: Launching at the end of this month with an exclusive Madonna concert from Buenos Aires, the new premium service EPIX is set to feature a special with rockers Kings of Leon in December, filmed at the O2 Arena in London.

A joint venture of Paramount Pictures, MGM and Lionsgate, EPIX is due to launch October 30, with carriage currently in place with Verizon’s FiOS TV platform. It has slated a number of high-profile events as it works to build its brand recognition, including the Madonna concert from Argentina and an Eddie Izzard comedy special. Kings of Leon’s live performance at The O2 Arena will air December 19 on EPIX. "Kings of Leon has a sound that reflects their many influences as well as many different genres, and it’s made them one of the biggest ground breaking bands in the world," said EPIX’s president, Mark Greenberg. T"his special is perfect for EPIX viewers and I am thrilled to be delivering it to them."
