Entertainment Rights, RHI Sign Distribution Deal for Dinotopia

LONDON, October 2: Entertainment Rights (ER) has signed a
deal with RHI International Distribution for the worldwide distribution rights,
excluding the U.S., to the animated movie Dinotopia: Quest for the Ruby
Sunstone
.

Under the agreement, ER now holds the worldwide television
distribution rights across pay- and free-TV platforms, as well as worldwide
home video distribution rights to the film, excluding the U.S.

Dinotopia: Quest for the Ruby Sunstone follows a 12-year-old orphan as he stows away on a
lifeboat in search of adventure. When the boat is shipwrecked, he finds himself
isolated on an island where humans and dinosaurs co-exist. The 75-minute
feature-length movie is targeted towards children aged 6 to 11, and was
produced in 2005 by Hallmark Entertainment (now RHI Entertainment), following
the publication of more than 20 books. Dinotopia also became a TV series, bolstered by a number of
computer games developed for PC, Gameboy Advance and Xbox.

Chloe van den Berg, the director of international sales at
Entertainment Rights, commented: “Entertainment Rights is unveiling Dinotopia
to international broadcasters for the first
time at MIPCOM this coming October. The Dinotopia franchise has had great success within publishing as
well as spawning a TV series and this one-off animated movie is anticipated to
deliver strong sales as part of Entertainment Rights’ fourth-quarter lineup of
programming.”
