Endemol Snags New Sales Before MIPTV

HILVERSUM, April 5: Endemol International has scored a
number of international deals in the lead up to MIPTV, including a deal with
Viasat to deliver Supersize vs.
Superskinny
.

Viasat acquired the
8-hour-long factual entertainment series in a multi-territory deal covering Sweden, Norway
and Denmark.
The show already pulls in an audience of up to 3.1 million on Channel 4 in the U.K.

Meanwhile, Endemol Netherlands’
exclusive expose on missing American student Natalee Holloway by Peter R. De Vries, Crime Reporter, has been snapped up by ABC in the U.S.
Also from Endemol Netherlands,
the drama series Don’t Miss the Ferry
and Julia’s Tango have been picked up
by VRT in Belgium.

For the first time,
Endemol has also sold finished productions of Big Brother. Russia’s
first season of the show, produced by Endemol Moscow for TNT, has been acquired
by TET in the Ukraine, while
two seasons of Endemol UK’s Big Brother have been taken by TVN in Poland.
The deals come on the heels of E4’s acquisition of Endemol USA’s
Big
Brother 8
, which is now airing in
the U.K.

Rounding out the deals is
Endemol UK’s documentary series Primordial
Dwarf
, which has been sold to seven new territories: RTL in the
Netherlands; TV Norge in Norway; TV3 in Denmark and Sweden; VTM in Belgium;
Nine Network in Australia; TVNZ in New Zealand; and TV3 Bulgaria.
