Endemol & Shanghai Media Group Enter Creative Partnership

LONDON/HONG KONG: A new long-term agreement sees Endemol Asia and Entertainment Team Media Group, a subsidiary of the Shanghai Media Group, jointly creating, developing and exploiting original content for the Chinese and international markets.

Endemol will hold the exclusive distribution and format rights outside of China for the new properties developed through the partnership, while Shanghai Media Group handles them for China. Endemol Asia and Entertainment Team will establish a joint creative team that is responsible for developing new programs and formats. the focus will be on production and broadcast in China, as well as distribution, local adaptation and exploitation internationally. The two companies will be working together on localizing formats from Endemol’s portfolio for the Chinese market.
