Endemol Picks Up Matt Hatter Chronicles

LONDON: Endemol has acquired the 26×30-minute 3D animated children’s series Matt Hatter Chronicles, which has already landed a number of presales.

Endemol entered into a deal with Platinum Films for the broadcast and worldwide ancillary right for the series. Matt Hatter Chronicles has been presold to Nickelodeon in Australia and the U.K., along with GMTV andITV1. TELETOON in Canada and RTE in Ireland are also on board. Licensing deals are already in place with Topps Europe and Penguin Books/Dorling Kindersley.

Debbie Macdonald, the VP and programming director at Nickelodeon UK, stated: “Matt Hatter Chronicles is a perfect balance of comedy and adventure with state of the art, cutting-edge 3D animation, which our audience is now growing to expect with the explosion of high end 3D Cinema and the digital video gaming culture.”

Nigel Stone,the  CEO and producer at Platinum Films, said: “Our hero Matt has the ability to see in 3D Multivision. When this happens in the adventure, the viewer experiences the animation as if it’s popping out of their TV screen, without the aid of 3D glasses. I believe Endemol is the perfect partner to direct the global roll out of this Dynamic entertainment property.”
