Endemol Game Show Set for Asian Treatment

HONG KONG: A three-year deal has been signed in Vietnam for the Endemol game show The Kids Are All Right, with Blue Ocean Communications scoring the rights to adapt the show.

The format is set to make its Asian debut on VTV3 in Vietnam, which will produce the first year of programming. Production begins in August, with the show set for a weekly morning slot. The game show has now been sold in ten territories, including Italy, Chile, Poland and the Middle East. The format watches as adults and kids face off in a battle of wits. Adults compete to win a cash prize, while a group of smart and sassy kids stand in their way.

Arjen van Mierlo, Endemol’s CEO of Asian operations, commented, “Signing a three-year output agreement with leading licensee Blue Ocean is a fantastic way to mark the format’s launch in Asia. The Kids Are All Right has great family appeal and I expect VTV3’s viewers will find the program witty, funny and enormously entertaining.”

Huy Cuong Tran, the director at Blue Ocean Communication Advertising Corporation, added, “Endemol’s entertainment formats have always proven to be hugely popular in Vietnam and I believe The Kids Are All Right has all the ingredients of a hit. We’re proud to partner with VTV3 to as they become the first broadcaster to bring the show to Asia.”
