EDN Looks for

COPENHAGEN: The European Documentary Network (EDN) has opened the call for a new two-part development program—New Platforms, New Politics—spotlighting ten documentaries that promote social, environmental and political change.

The development program will help define a frame for the production of each of the participating projects, as well as facilitate contact between participants and co-producers and/or financiers. New Platforms, New Politics is organized as a two-step program, with an interim development phase.

The first workshop will take place on July 1 to 3 in Chania, Crete, Greece immediately prior to the Discovery Campus Open Training Session on July 4 and 5. The second part of the program will take place in collaboration with Sheffield Doc/Fest on November 4 to 8. The first part of the program will focus on the development of the selected projects, while the second is centered on project presentation in preparation for the follow days’ individual meetings with invited co-production partners and potential financiers. During the interim period, filmmakers complete the first stages of filming and edit short parts of the actual film and a trailer.

New Platforms, New Politics is open for all European producers and filmmakers and can include up to ten projects. Priority will be given to entrants with a cross-platform approach. Deadline for submitting a proposal is May 25.
