Ed Wilson Appointed as President of Tribune Broadcasting

CHICAGO, February 4:
Tribune Company has named Ed Wilson, previously the president of the Fox
Television Network, as president of Tribune Broadcasting, effective February
11.

In his new post, Wilson
will oversee the company’s 23 television stations, Superstation WGN, Tribune
Entertainment and WGN Radio.

Wilson has served as
president of the Fox Television Network since 2004, and prior to that served in
executive positions with NBC and CBS. In 2000, Wilson helped found NBC
Enterprises and served as its first president. In that capacity, he supervised
foreign and domestic syndication, merchandising, licensing, music and
publishing, as well as domestic and foreign co-productions and co-ventures.
Before that, Wilson was president and CEO of CBS Enterprises and Entertainment.

In 1994, Wilson founded
his own syndication company, MaXaM Entertainment, in partnership with A.H. Belo
Corp; the company was sold to CBS in January 1996.

"Ed is the most
energetic and creative executive in broadcasting," said Randy Michaels,
the CEO of Tribune Interactive and Broadcasting. “Most people are too full of
themselves to learn anything new before they ever get to the level of success
Ed has achieved. As anyone who has ever been to the bar at a broadcasting
convention knows, Ed is a great guy, who just happens to come out on top."
