E1 Heads to Cannes with Drama, Movies & More

TORONTO: Among the highlights from E1 Entertainment for MIPTV buyers are Call Me Fitz and Rookie Blue (formerly called Copper), and star talent from both series will be in attendance at the market.

Jason Priestley of Beverly Hills, 90210 fame headlines the cast of Call Me Fitz and will be on hand in Cannes. The dark comedy is slated to air this year on The Movie Network and Movie Central in Canada. Rookie Blue stars Missy Peregrym and Gregory Smith will also be in Cannes. The police drama premieres on ABC in the U.S. and Global Television in Canada this summer. NBCU has also picked up the exclusive global pay-TV rights, excluding the U.S., Canada and Germany.

When Love is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story is a Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie based on a true story. Winona Ryder stars in the E1 production. Haven, based on the Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid, is slated to air this summer on Syfy in the U.S. and Canwest Global in Canada.

There’s also Shattered, a drama series that has sold to Canwest Global for Showcase in Canada. Made is inspired by the MTV reality series of the same name.
