Driver Dan Gets Gaming Extensions

LONDON: Nintendo DS and PC activity games are set to be created by Avanquest Software for the twofour54 preschool series Driver Dan’s Story Train.

Avanquest Software will create and publish a Nintendo DS and PC activity collection of 12 to 15 mini games of the series, which is produced by 3Line Media in association with twofour54 Abu Dhabi. The game launch is planned for Easter 2012 across the U.K. and Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. The series currently airs on CBeebies.

“With a portfolio of over 200 best-selling games for the PC and Nintendo DS featuring the very latest cutting edge technology and innovation, we are delighted that Avanquest will be introducing Driver Dan to the world of Nintendo DS gaming,” said Andrew Kerr, the managing director of Aoh!K Commercial.

Simon Reynolds, the European games director of Avanquest Software, said, “We are delighted to be working with the successful Driver Dan’s Story Train brand and adding it to our roster of best-selling children’s Nintendo DS games.”

Other merchandise licensees include Golden Bear, which has launched range of toys in the U.K.; Universal Pictures International Entertainment, which is bringing DVDs to the U.K. and Australian markets; and publishing partner Macmillan Books, which has launched a variety of book formats. Ravensburger, MV Sports and TDP Aykroyds will be launching products in 2012.
