DRG Takes On Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields

LONDON: DRG has secured the worldwide distribution rights for Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields, a one-hour doc produced for Channel 4 about the alleged war crimes carried out in the final weeks of the Sri Lankan civil war.

Produced by ITN Productions, the documentary features video evidence of war crimes. Captured on mobile phones by Tamils under attack as well as government soldiers, the footage shows extra-judicial executions of prisoners, the aftermath of targeted shelling of civilian camps and female Tamil fighters who have been assaulted and murdered.

The doc aired earlier this week on Channel 4; the hour-long program drew in 810,000 viewers at 11 p.m. and a further 44,000 on the time-shifted C4+1 service.
