DQE Goes on Children’s Talent Search

HYDERABAD: DQ Entertainment’s Powerkidz is a story and script writing competition that will be conducted on an all-India basis, targeting more than 1,000 schools in the country.

DQ is looking to expose students nationwide to the worlds of audio visuals, with the winning entry turned into a short film, produced by DQ Entertainment. The entries will be judged by a jury of luminaries from the media and entertainment industries. Five of the best story writers will be short listed and invited to attend a two-day interactive adio-visual event, including visual arts, animation, theater and creative workshops and interactive brainstorming sessions. The event will be held in Hyderabad in January-February 2011.

The winning entry will be made into a short film enacted by the writer and supporting cast members selected by DQ. This will be sent for onward submission to the Ciak Junior Film Festival, an international contest held in Italy. The winner of DQ Powerkidz talent search will also be sponsored to represent the film in Italy.

Sumedha Saraogi, the senior VP of global business and branding at DQE, commented: "Our aim is to promote creative thought and expression using the audio visual medium amongst children. DQ Powerkidz will provide the platform for creative expression for children in the ages of 10 to 15. We will draw upon our in-house creative talent base of over 3,000 artists to conduct workshops for children and ignite their creative spirit."
