NEW YORK: Nadav Palti, the CEO and president of Dori Media Group and chairman of Israel’s Mapal Communications, is to serve as gala chair of the 39th International Emmy Awards.

Palti will preside at the gala and speak during the pre-show. “Nadav is a Member of The International Academy and a longstanding friend and supporter of our organization,” said Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. “He has built one of Israel’s largest media groups and works and travels tirelessly to expand it.”

Palti commented: “It is an honor to be asked to chair the 39th International Emmy Awards. The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is an organization that is close to my heart, as its raison d’etre is to promote TV and TV creators from all over the world and give them a stage outside their country of origin. They also instill in all of us standards of excellence and professionalism.”

The gala, to be held November 21 in New York City, will recognize Indian media mogul Subhash Chandra, the founder of Zee TV with the International Emmy Directorate Award. Nigel Lythgoe, co-creator and executive producer of So You Think You Can Dance, will receive the International Emmy Founders Award. The International Academy will present Emmys in ten program categories, with the nominees to be announced on October 3 in Cannes during MIPCOM.
