MIAMI: Dori Media Group (DMG) has sold the formats for its telenovelas Mannequins and Amanda O to Idea Asia Media, which is currently developing adaptations for the Chinese market.

The cross-platform telenovela Amanda O was produced by Dori Media Contenidos and won a Merit Award for Internet site streaming at the 2009 Accolade Awards. The online version of the series was launched in November 2008, and since then it has been sold to 105 territories. The series is about a diva whose identity has been taken over.

The Israeli series Mannequins was originally produced by Dori Media Darset for HOT’s VOD service in November 2007. The 102 35-minute episode series features the controversial world of modeling. Mannequins’ episodes were ordered 16 million times (about 160,000 orders per episode) during its first six months of availability on VOD service.

Andres Santos, the VP of sales of Dori Media America, commented: “We are proud to announce the format sales of our telenovelas Amanda O and Mannequins to Idea Asia Media. The Asian market for localized adaptations of proven foreign titles is enormous and we are very focused on meeting the needs of our customers and distributors in Asia. Dori Media’s content has proven to be very popular across Asia and we have sold four shows to China in two years, where the potential for Dori Media is of course enormous. Amanda O has been widely acclaimed around the world and we are certain that the adaptation of Mannequins will also be extremely popular with its Chinese audience.”
