Dori Media Opens New Subsidiary in the U.S.

TEL AVIV,
August 17: Dori Media Group has opened a new U.S. subsidiary, Dori Media
America (DMA), based in Miami, and has tapped former RCTV International
executive Jose Escalante to lead the new division as its CEO.

In addition
to being named CEO of Dori Media America, Escalante has also been appointed as
president and general manager of Dori Media Distribution (DMD), the subsidiary
of Dori Media Group (DMG) responsible for global telenovela distribution.

As the
CEO of DMA, Escalante’s role will include marketing Dori Media’s telenovelas to
U.S. broadcasters and partners, developing strategic partnerships for the
distribution of telenovelas and formats, as well as developing cooperative
agreements with large broadcasters and merchandising companies to increase
sales of telenovela-branded products such as music CDs, DVDs and videos. As the
president and general manager of DMD, Mr. Escalante will also supervise the
management of the worldwide distribution of telenovelas.

Escalante
was previously the VP and general manager of RCTV International, the
distribution agent of Venezuelan producer and network RCTV and Channel 13 in
Chile.

Nadav
Palti, the president and CEO of Dori Media Group, commented: “We are delighted
to welcome Jose Escalante to Dori Media Group and to launch our new subsidiary
DMA in Miami. This strategic opening in the U.S., coupled with the invaluable
experience brought by Jose and his team, will enable us to enhance our
distribution scale and strategic network in the U.S. market. The power of
telenovelas and the loyalty they generate are very strong in the U.S., both in
the Hispanic and non-Hispanic markets, in many cases generating higher
prime-time ratings than other programs on U.S. TV channels. This is an exciting
opportunity for Dori Media to establish itself as a partner of choice for U.S.
broadcasters.”
