NASHVILLE: Starting September 10, new episodes of the original series DocTalk will air in prime time on Fridays on Documentary Channel (DOC).

The half-hour episodes in the second season will feature exclusive interviews with filmmakers such as Restrepo director Sebastian Junger; Kings of Pastry co-directors DA Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus; People vs. George Lucas producer and cinematographer Robert Muratore and director Alexandre Philippe; Leave them Laughing director John Zaritsky; and Street Fight director Marshall Curry.

“I’m very excited about our new season of DocTalk because there is a tremendous variety of subject matter in the documentaries we are covering,” said Barry Rubinow, DocTalk co-executive producer and producer, and Documentary Channel’s senior VP of creative services. “Documentary filmmakers are incredibly interesting to interview because they are so passionate about their films and their subjects. Talking with them directly adds unique insight into the world of their documentary and into the documentary world in general."

“In season two we plan to give viewers a more comprehensive look at the documentaries in current release, as well as a sneak peak into what’s creating buzz at the latest film festivals like the Hot Docs International Film Festival, Asian Pacific Film Festival and AFI Fest,” added James Ackerman, the president and CEO of Documentary Channel and co-executive producer of DocTalk. “We want viewers to be up to date on the most anticipated new documentaries and the subject matter that is the driving force behind these films.”
