DOC Takes Film Package from Image

NASHVILLE: A slate of 16 titles from the Image Entertainment library, including Born into Brothels and Murderball, will have their exclusive television premiere on The Documentary Channel (DOC) through a new multi-year agreement. 

Doc titles include Born Into Brothels, Spellbound, War Dance and Murderball, as well as Boys of Baraka and Trials of Darryl Hunt. The package also showcases films such as Bus 174, Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till, Blindsight and Festival Express, among others. The Image Entertainment film collection will begin premiering on DOC beginning November 23 at 9 p.m. with Bus 174. The remaining films are scheduled to premiere in 2010, with specific titles and dates to be announced at a later date.

"The titles we selected represent a wide variety of styles and subjects,” said Kate Pearson, The Documentary Channel’s senior VP of programming. “All of these documentaries are major award winners, and we are thrilled to provide the opportunity to telecast these quality films to a mass television audience.”
