NASHVILLE: A retrospective of eight works from the filmmaking duo of DA Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus will be the focus of Saturday nights this September on Documentary Channel (DOC).

As part of its Primetime Premieres lineup, DOC has secured an package of eight films from Film Sales Company on behalf of Pennebaker Hegedus Films. The lineup includes Al Franken: God Spoken on September 26. The retrospective also features The War Room, DeLorean, Town Bloody Hall, Chiefs and Daybreak Express, in addition to the TV premieres of Opening in Moscow and Two American Audiences.

“It’s a real honor for us to be running this retrospective from the legendary Pennebaker-Hegedus team,” said Kate Pearson, Documentary Channel senior VP of programming. “Accompanying the telecast of each film will be exclusive anecdotes and insights from them which will be especially interesting for brand new and established Pennebaker-Hegedus fans.”

"Chris and I make these films to be seen—not just rarely seen—and are thrilled that Documentary Channel will be airing what for some will be their North American TV premieres," added Pennebaker.
