DOC Slates July Primetime Premieres

NASHVILLE: The Documentary Channel (DOC) has added four films to its Monday Primetime Premieres lineup for July: Gamers, Air Racer: Chasing the Dream, Crossover: A Worldwide Basketball Odyssey and JUMP!

On July 5, Gamers looks at the often bizarre lifestyles of gamers, specifically of those involved with MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online). The following Monday Air Racer: Chasing the Dream is slated. The film tells the story of Jon and Patricia Sharp, who risk everything to create the most advanced race plane ever made, the Nemeis NXT.

Crossover: A Worldwide Basketball Odyssey debuts on July 19. The doc explores the game of basketball and its cultural impact around the world. Meanwhile, JUMP! takes a look into the world of competitive jump rope. The character-driven documentary follows five teams from around the country who are in pursuit of winning the world championship.

“July’s premieres represent the ideas of activity and competition,” said Kate Pearson, The Documentary Channel’s senior VP of programming. “Whether it is airplane racing, jumping rope, basketball or even video gaming, these stories of challenge pull us in and involve us in a very active way.”
