Disney XD Orders New Live-Action Series

BURBANK: Disney XD in the U.S. has announced a new live-action comedy called Lab Rats, which will begin production in September for a 2012 premiere.

A companion to the Disney XD hit Kickin’ It, Lab Rats is the story of Leo, a teenage boy who discovers three super-teens with bionic powers living in his basement. It stars Tyrel Jackson Williams (Everybody Hates Chris), Billy Unger (You Again), Spencer Boldman (I’m in the Band), Kelli Berglund (Hip Hop Harry) and Hal Sparks (E!’s Talk Soup).

Lab Rats was created by Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore (That ’70s Show), who will serve as the executive producers together with Mark Brazill (That ’70s Show, 3rd Rock from the Sun). The series is from It’s a Laugh Productions.
