Disney, Nick Hail Ratings Successes

BURBANK/NEW YORK, October
2: Nickelodeon is celebrating its 54th consecutive quarter as the top cable
outlet during the whole day for kids 2 to 11 and total viewers, while Disney
Channel is touting its position as the number one TV network in total day for
tweens 9 to 14.

In the tween segment,
Disney topped runner-up Nickelodeon by 6 percent in total day ratings. In
prime, Disney remains basic cable’s number one network for kids 6 to 11 (for 14
straight quarters) and tweens (37 consecutive quarters). Disney is also cable’s
second most-watched network of the quarter in total viewers, behind
Nickelodeon.

Nickelodeon continues its
reign as basic cable's top total day network for kids and total viewers. And in
the kids 2-to-11 demo, Nickelodeon owned a dominant 43-percent viewing share in
total day. In 2 to 11, Nick had a 35-percent lead over its closest competitor,
Disney Channel, and 84-percent over Cartoon Network. Nick also hailed its
leading position over Disney in the 6-to-11 segment, and touted its ranking as
the number one destination for preschoolers on commercial TV.
