Disney Channel Worldwide Names VP of Global Original Programming

BURBANK/LONDON, April 24: Steve Aranguren has been named as
VP of global original programming at Disney Channel Worldwide, reporting to Gary Marsh, the president of entertainment at
Disney Channel Worldwide, and John Hardie, the executive VP and managing
director of Disney Channel EMEA.

Aranguren will relocate to London for his new position,
where he will supervise the development and production of live-action and
animation programming outside of North America for
Disney Channel Worldwide. In his new role, Aranguren will provide
creative leadership and supervision while collaborating with regional
programming and production teams to ensure all programming content reflects
both local Disney Channels and Disney Channel brand values. He will also serve
as the primary liaison between Disney Channels in the Europe/Middle
East/African and Asia-Pacific regions, supervising development and production
of television pilots and series in conjunction with local production entities.

For the past year, Aranguren was a consultant for Disney
Channel Worldwide after spending five years from 2001-06 as the executive
director of creative affairs for Walt Disney Television Animation, where he
supervised current production for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Lilo and Stitch: The Series and the upcoming My Friends Tigger and
Pooh
.
From 1999-2001, Aranguren was a production executive at Disney Channel
where he helped launch top-rated Disney Channel series such as Even
Stevens
and Lizzie McGuire.
