Disney Channel Appoints Daniel Shum for Asia Pacific

HONG
KONG, June 5: Daniel Shum has been appointed the VP of consumer strategy and
research for Disney Channel Asia Pacific.

Based
in Hong Kong, Shum will direct all brand and consumer research studies in
the region and help define marketing and programming strategies for key
franchises. He will also support the development of brand extensions, new media
and branded offerings throughout the region. Shum will report to Nicky Parkinson,
the senior VP of Disney Channel Asia Pacific, Kelly Pena, the VP, and Jill
Dowless, the VP at Disney-ABC global research group in Burbank.

Shum
joins Disney after seven years with Research International, where he was most
recently the managing director for Taiwan and Hong Kong. Prior to that, he
worked with Wirthlin Worldwide Hong Kong, now known as Harris Interactive,
Burson Marsteller and AC Nielson China.
