Disney-ABC Scores New Licensees for Army Wives

HONG KONG, May 29:
Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific) has secured licensing deals
for the U.S. cable series Army Wives with six broadcasters across the Asia-Pacific region.

Hallmark Channel, Network
Ten in Australia, Fiji TV, Zee Cafe in India, TV2 in New Zealand and Story On
channel in Korea are all set to air the army drama, which ranked as the
highest-rated series ever on Lifetime in the U.S. The series makes its
Southeast Asian debut on the Hallmark Channel starting this month.

Army Wives has been a huge success on cable TV in the U.S.
and we are confident that the show’s character-driven story line, star-studded
cast and realistic portrayal of military family life—a topic of relevance
in today’s society—will make it a hit with audiences in Asia Pacific,”
commented Rob Gilby, the senior VP and managing director at Disney-ABC
International Television (Asia Pacific).
