Disney-ABC Renews Movie Deal with Zee Studio

CANNES, April 10: Disney-ABC International Television Asia Pacific has
re-upped its multi-year movie deal with Indian basic-cable movie channel Zee Studio.

This agreement covers the
licensing of live-action library features, Disney
animated-movie titles and made-for-TV movies. Zee Studio is part of Zee
Entertainment Enterprises’ bouquet of 22 channels. Disney
content has also been previously licensed to Zee’s general entertainment
channel, Zee Cafe, including U.S. cable series Army Wives, and reality series I Wanna Be A Soap Star and The Next Best Thing: Who Is The Greater Celebrity

“We’re delighted to be expanding our
relationship with Zee to offer Indian viewers a broad range of renowned Disney
movies that appeal to all members of the family,” said Rob Gilby, the senior VP
and managing director at Disney-ABC International Television Asia Pacific.
“India is a key market for our business and this deal is in line with our
continued commitment to expand Disney’s content reach here.”

Disney-ABC International Television,” commented Neil Chakravarti, the executive
VP and business head for Zee Studio. “Zee Studio continues on its commitment to
bring viewers the choicest Hollywood titles, including an exciting selection of
premier animated titles from Disney.”
