Discovery Turbo to Launch in Asia Pacific

SINGAPORE, August 29:
Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific is replacing Discovery Real Time with Discovery
Turbo, a new male-skewing entertainment channel dedicated to motoring.

Discovery Turbo will be
available in Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the
Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand from September 22. The channel will
launch with a four-day programming special, Turbo-Charged, in conjunction with the first-ever Formula One
night race taking place in Singapore. Turbo-Charged will showcase two programs, The Secret Life of
Formula One
and Speed Science, providing an exclusive look inside the Formula
One industry.

Other new series to air on
Discovery Turbo include Trick My Truck, which features mechanics transforming trucks into their driver’s
dream ride, and Drift Style,
showcasing highlights from the Formula Drift racing series. The channel will
also air new seasons of returning series Wheelers Dealers, where duo Mike Brewer and Edd China repair or
improve classics before selling their newly made-over cars for more than just a
profit.

Tom Keaveny, the executive VP and managing director for Discovery Networks
Asia-Pacific, said, “Discovery Turbo is an exciting addition to our portfolio
of networks. Targeted at men who are passionate about speed and motors, the
channel is a clear and unique proposition for our advertisers, providing them
with a high-quality environment to reach out to this valuable audience.”

Discovery Networks
Asia-Pacific announced in July that its India business has applied to the
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to launch Discovery Turbo as a 24-hour
channel next year.
