Discovery Launching Three New Channel Brands in Canada

TORONTO: Discovery World HD, Investigation Discovery (ID) and Discovery Science are all headed to Canada later this year through the renewal of a joint venture between Discovery Communications and CTV.

Discovery World launches August 2, while ID follows on August 30 and Discovery Science on September 27. Discovery World HD is a rebrand of Discovery HD. The channel will examine the wonders of the world, past and present, with themes ranging from culture, science and natural history to travel and lifestyle. ID replaces Court TV. The channel delves into the real-life world of investigation, exploration of the latest forensic analysis and true stories that look at human nature. Discovery Science, which replaces Discovery Civilization, explores the quirky side of technology, human progress, scientific discoveries and the people behind them.
