Discovery Launches Kids’ Weekend Block in Asia

SINGAPORE: Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific is launching a Discovery Kids weekend programming block on Discovery Channel in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand in April.

The block will feature a special lineup of programming aimed at encouraging kids to explore the world around them. Programs featured include Land of the Mammoth, Alien Planet, Dinosaur Planet, Ultimate Guide: Human Body, Mean Machines and Inside the Space Station. The one-hour Discovery Kids block will air every Saturday and Sunday in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Australia/New Zealand at 11 a.m., 10 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., respectively. The block will further launch in Japan in July, but is yet to be schedule. A half-hour block launched in India in January, and airs Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m.
