Discovery Explores Escalating Issue of Free-Roaming Wild Hogs

SILVER SPRING: Discovery Channel and Film Garden Entertainment are teaming up for the ten-part series Hogs Gone Wild, which spotlights the issues arising from the increasing population of wild hogs that are roaming the U.S.

The reproduction rate of these animals is quite high and controlling the population of these aggressive and unruly beasts is crucial to mitigate costly damages and physical danger. There are currently an estimated 6 million wild hogs, with some of them growing as large as 700 pounds. The series, set to debut in the first quarter of 2011, examines the detrimental issues by following three of the toughest animal removal companies in the country in their attempt to combat these wild hogs.
