NEW YORK: Discovery en Español has two original productions on its 2011-2012 schedule: one about the debate over immigration policy and one focused on what key Latin American cities will be like in 2111.

Living Under the Radar will provide a look at the immigration debate that continues to make headlines in the U.S., focusing on illegal immigrants and their families, law enforcement agents and citizens living on the border. Destination 2111, meanwhile, will feature six episodes chronicling what life will be like in Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Bogota in the year 2011. Other highlights for the channel include properties from the Discovery Communications slate, including Frozen Planet, the two-hour special Mermaids, the six-part Out of the Wild: Venezeula, Ridley Scott’s Prophets of Science Fiction and Shark Week, among others.

At Discovery Familia, the My Kids programming block will see the launch of Early Intervention, while Extreme Couponing and Maxed Out join the My Home block and Look for Less comes to the My Time block. The channel’s Discovery Kids block will introduce Justin Time and Rob the Robot.
