Discovery Channel Promotes VP of Development & Production

SILVER SPRING, July 18: Discovery Channel has upped Dolores Gavin to senior VP of development and production from the VP position.

Gavin is based at the Silver Spring headquarters and will be tasked with overseeing development and production strategy. She reports to Clark Bunting, the president and general manager of Discovery Channel.

Prior to her new role, Gavin was the VP of development and production. She joined Discovery Channel in February 2010 as senior director of development and production. She drove the development of Gold Rush: Alaska, the channel’s highest rated new series premiere in more than five years, among other programs.

"Dolores has been an invaluable asset to our development and production team,” said Bunting. “Her instincts and insights are spot on. Now, with her expanded responsibilities, that expertise will reap Discovery continued success.”
