Discovery Adds to Emerging Markets Team

LONDON: Discovery Networks Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) has announced the appointment of Christian Kurz as research director for emerging markets.

Based in London, Kurz will be tasked with providing consumer-based strategic guidance and research across Discovery’s emerging markets line, with a focus on ad-sales-driven markets such as Russia, South Africa and Turkey. Kurz joins Discovery from Disney-ABC Networks Group in London, where he served as director of brand strategy and marketing research. Prior to that, Kurz was television research director for Warner Bros. International Television.

Caleb Weinstein, the acting general manager of emerging markets for Discovery Networks EMEA, said, "Christian’s extensive television experience combined with his strong management skills and passion for research will be a key asset in helping us engage more effectively with audiences and advertisers across all emerging markets territories."
