Digital Appointment at BBC Worldwide

LONDON: Daniel Heaf is joining BBC Worldwide to fill the newly created role of digital director, reporting to CEO John Smith.

Heaf is tasked with expanding BBC Worldwide’s digital businesses, which currently account for about 5 percent of the company’s revenues. “We have made great strides in growing our digital portfolio with audiences all around the world consuming our news and entertainment content on a multitude of platforms," said Smith. "With his strong background in media and entertainment, Dan Heaf is expertly equipped to provide a strong digital vision as we continue to realize our digital ambitions. We’re thrilled to have him back at BBC Worldwide."

Heaf has spent the last two years at Channel 4 as digital commissioner of 4iP. He was previously director of digital ventures at BBC Worldwide.
