DIC Teams with Music Label for New Tween Brand

LOS ANGELES, July 31: DIC Entertainment has joined forces
with Geffen Records to launch SPG, a brand that will roll out tween-targeted
content on multiple platforms—including television, online, mobile,
consumer products and music—based on a new girl group named Slumber Party
Girls.

At the center of the brand is the “multi-talented,
multi-ethnic” Slumber Party Girls, five teens selected from more than 1,000 who
auditioned. The group of girls, who can sing, dance and act, will host the new KOL's
Secret Slumber Party on CBS
, the morning
programming block for kids that launches September 16. The group will also
serve as the “house band” on the dance competition series Dance
Revolution!
Set to air as part of the CBS
kids’ block, the show of 26 half-hour episodes is based on the hit video game
franchise from Konami. The music for Dance Revolution! will be performed by the Slumber Party Girls and
featured throughout the show. The Slumber Party Girls’ new single will debut on
iTunes and on AOL’s kids’ service KOL in August.
