DIC Taps Mattel for SPG Merchandise

LOS ANGELES, February 6: DIC
Entertainment has named Mattel as its master toy partner for the upcoming
merchandise launch of the tween entertainment brand SPG: The Slumber Party
Girls
.

Last year, DIC formed a
partnership with Geffen Records to jointly develop, market and merchandise SPG:
The Slumber Party Girls, a new girl band that hosts DIC’s KOL Secret Slumber
Party on CBS
block and performs as the
house band on one of the block’s shows, Dance Revolution. The group released their debut CD in October.

Mattel will develop a toy line

games that will debut at mass retail in 2008. DIC and partners will also
develop the merchandise program in additional key categories, including
publishing, home entertainment, apparel, interactive, accessories, novelty and

starring SPG: The Slumber Party Girls, which is anticipated to premiere in fall
2007 on an unnamed U.S. network. Additionally, a national concert tour,
Broadway musical and television sitcom are in development. DIC will also launch
in March 2007 a free quarterly tween-targeted branded publication, Kewl.
