Desperate Housewives PC Game Targets Adult Women

LONDON, November 2:
The Walt Disney Company’s interactive entertainment affiliate, Buena
Vista Games, will release Desperate Housewives—The Game in time for Christmas, targeting adult women.

According to research from Buena Vista Games, in a sample
group of women aged 24 to 35, more than 35 percent defined themselves as gamers
and fans of the Desperate Housewives TV
show, and of those, more than 92 percent accessed their home PCs more than five
times a week.

"There has been a lot of stigma attached to gaming,”
said Shan Savage, BVG’s senior marketing manager. “It has traditionally been
the preserve of hardcore gamers sitting in their bedrooms but now there is more
of a social aspect to gaming and women do respond to that.”
