Dennis Hopper Joins Cast of New Starz Drama

ENGLEWOOD, June 6: Dennis
Hopper is set to star in Crash,
the first original drama from Starz Entertainment, based on the Academy
Award-winning film of the same name.

The 13×1-hour series,
co-produced with Lionsgate, has begun production in Albuquerque, New Mexico,
with additional filming to take place in and around Los Angeles. Sanford
Bookstaver (Jericho, Bones, The O.C.) will direct the premiere episode, which will debut on Starz in
October.

Also cast in the series
are Clare Carey (Jericho), Luis
Chavez (Ocean’s Thirteen, Terminator:
The Sarah Connor Chronicles
), Ross
McCall (Band of Brothers, CSI: NY),
Jocko Sims (Dreamgirls, CSI), Brian Tee (Grey’s Anatomy, Zoey 101) and Arlene Tur (Grey’s Anatomy). Headed by executive producer Glen Mazzara (The Shield), the creative team includes executive producers Paul
Haggis, Bob Yari and Bobby Moresco, with co-executive producers Don
Cheadle, Tom Nunan, Mark Harris, Jorg Westerkamp and Thomas Becker. Starz Media’s
Anchor Bay Entertainment will hold the exclusive U.S. distribution rights,
including home entertainment, while Lionsgate will retain international
distribution.
