Defying Gravity Gets August Launch on ABC

BURBANK: Defying Gravity, a space thriller set in the near future, from Fox Television Studios and Omni Film Productions, is slated for an August 2 premiere on ABC.

From executive producers James Parriott and Michael Edelstein, the show focuses on eight astronauts from five countries who undertake a mysterious six-year international space mission covering 8 billion miles. It launches with a two-hour premiere and will air on ABC every Sunday at 10 p.m.

The cast includes Ron Livingston, Laura Harris, Malik Yoba, Christina Cox, Florentine Lahme, Paula Garces, Eyal Podell and Dylan Taylor.

Inspired by Space Odyssey: Voyage to the Planets, a fictional docudrama produced by Impossible Pictures for the BBC, Defying Gravity is a co-venture between Fox Television Studios and Omni Film Productions, produced in association with Canada’s CTV and Germany’s ProSieben.
