DECODE Presenting New Live Action & Animation

TORONTO/LONDON: Leading off the MIPTV slate of DECODE Enterprises is the new tween live-action series How to Be Indie, alongside the animated special Side Show Christmas.

The 26×30-minute How to Be Indie was created and produced by Heroic Film Company to debut on YTV in Canada this fall. The live-action series is told through the eyes of 13-year-old Indie as she tries to balance the traditions of her South Asian family with her Western lifestyle. Side Show Christmas, meanwhile, follows the festive adventures of Jason Shanks. His father’s side show is hitting rock bottom, and Santa is hypnotized, so Jason must get Santa back to his sleigh and revoutionize the "Most Unbelievable Show on Earch" in order to save Christmas. The one-hour special is produced by Cheshire Smile and Studio B Productions for Canada’s TELETOON.

DECODE’s new preschool slate includes Halifax Film’s puppet show Mighty Jungle, set under a canopy of chattering birds and leafy vines; the Neptuno/DECODE/OLC co-production Poppet’s Town, featuring a fun town where each day brings a new adventure; and the family series Grandpa in My Pocket, produced by Adastra Creative for CBeebies. Also new for the market are further episodes of preschool shows Franny’s Feet and Bo on the Go!

Josh Scherba, the VP of distribution at DECODE Enterprises, said: "We have a very strong lineup for this market. How to Be Indie is already generating a buzz and we anticipate a high level of interest in this live-action tween series. In the preschool arena, we have a varied slate of distinctive shows ranging from 2-D animation and puppet-based animation to live action with special effects. We also have new episodes of established properties Franny’s Feet and Bo on the Go!, which continue to perform very well around the globe."
