DECODE Entertainment Inks Japanese Deal for Naughty Naughty Pets

TORONTO/LONDON, May 30: Japanese broadcaster NHK has
acquired DECODE Entertainment’s Naughty Naughty Pets, a series of 26×3-minute shorts commissioned by the
CBC, for its Saturday morning schedule.

Naughty Naughty Pets is
currently airing on Cartoon Network in the U.S. throughout its schedule as well
as daily on its sister channel Boomerang. DECODE has also reached a deal for Naughty
Naughty Pets
with Mexican network Canal
Once, and is currently developing the shorts into a long-form series. Naughty
Naughty Pets
was created by New York-based
artist Wendy Ann Gardner, who is also an executive producer of the series. The
episodes follow the escapades of a group of mischievous pets that include Dig
Ivan Dig, a pug with a digging problem; Pretty Princess Vicki, a home shopping
channel addict; and Killer Kiwi Devil Cat, who is always in a bad mood.

The Sharpe Company is the worldwide licensing agent for the Naughty
Naughty Pets
. New U.S. licensees include
Wish Licensing for apparel, Fiesta for plush and American Greetings.
