Daytime Emmy Winners Announced

NEW YORK: The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the winners of the 36th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, with ABC notching up a total of 17 wins. 

PBS scored the second-most wins, with 16. CBS and Nickelodeon both landed eight wins, while NBC took home four. Food Network had three, Cartoon Network had two and 4Kids on FOX, Discovery Channel, Disney Channel, FOX, MTV and YouTube each scored one win.

Best drama series was The Bold and the Beautiful. Performance wins in the drama category went to Christian LeBlanc of The Young and the Restless and Susan Haskell of One Life to Live. Supporting actor and actress nods went to Vincent Irizarry of All My Children and Tamara Braun of Days of Our Lives, respectively. 

Good Morning America was named best morning show. Best entertainment talk show went to Rachael Ray, while The Tyra Banks Show won for best informational talk show. Best talk show host went to the ladies of The View: Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters. 

Cash Cab won for best game show. Cristina’s Court was named best legal program. 

The lifetime achievement award was given to Sesame Street, on the occasion of the show’s 40th anniversary.
