Daytime Emmy Award Winners Announced

LOS ANGELES: The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has unveiled the winners of the 42nd Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which included a host of online animated series from the likes of Amazon and Netflix.

The winner for outstanding preschool children's series was Dino Dan: Trek's Adventures (Nickelodeon), while outstanding children's series went to R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: The Series (Discovery Family Channel). In the animated arena, Tumble Leaf (Amazon Instant Video) won in the preschool category and All Hail King Julien (Netflix) in the children's category. The YouTube series Silent took the award for outstanding special class animated program.

Outstanding lifestyle program was awarded to Home Made Simple (OWN) and outstanding travel program to Rock the Park (The CW). The winner of outstanding entertainment program in Spanish was El Gordo y la Flaca (Univision).

NATAS also presented the Daytime Emmy Awards, which honored Days of Our Lives (NBC) as outstanding drama, tied with The Young and the Restless (CBS). The award for outstanding culinary program went to Barefoot Contessa: Back to Basics (Food Network), game show to Jeopardy! (syndicated), outstanding talk show/informative to Steve Harvey (syndicated) and outstanding talk show/entertainment to The Ellen DeGeneres Show (syndicated).
