David Kenin Exits Hallmark

NEW YORK: David Kenin, the executive VP of programming at Crown Media Holdings, which operates Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel in the U.S., is stepping down at the end of this month.

Barbara Fisher, senior VP of original programming, and Michelle Vicary, the senior VP of acquisitions and scheduling, will share Kenin’s responsibilities until a replacement is named.

“During David’s tenure, Hallmark Channel has become firmly established as a leading family-friendly entertainment channel while Hallmark Movie Channel has been successfully launched as an emerging network in high demand," said Bill Abbott, who was recently named president and CEO of Crown Media, following Henry Schleiff’s resignation. "We thank this extremely talented media executive for his tremendous contributions to our company. David leaves us with a strong and experienced management team that is ready to meet the challenges ahead.”

Kenin joined Crown Media in 2002 and ramped up Hallmark’s original programming efforts, as well as led the development and launch of Hallmark Movie Channel.
