Dave Takes 11 Seasons of Fifth Gear

LONDON: UKTV has taken on the rights to an additional 11 seasons of Fifth Gear from ALL3MEDIA International, totaling 95.5 hours, for its entertainment channel Dave.

UKTV picked up the exclusive multichannel and non-linear broadcast rights for seasons six through 16 of Fifth Gear. Originally commissioned in 2002 for Five, the motoring magazine show is produced by North One Television. The series is one of Five’s most consistently high-rating shows, and has performed equally strong on Dave, reaching an adult audience of 13.4 million viewers.

UKTV’s content acquisitions manager, Alexandra Finlay, said, “Fifth Gear is a perfect fit for Dave and this deal ensures a continuing stream of fresh high-quality car content to satisfy Dave’s audiences for the foreseeable future.”

Dave’s channel head, Steve North, added, “Fifth Gear is a fantastically entertaining show and acquiring the remaining 11 series reinforces Dave’s commitment to motoring content while also complementing other key titles such as Top Gear, World Rally and Red Bull X-Fighters.”
